TOURNAMENT
FORMAT: Double Elimination
The
first wrestler to score three takedowns or the wrestler with the most takedowns
at the end of one 2 minute period will be declared the winner. If the wrestlers are tied at the end of
regulation a sudden victory period will be wrestled. In the sudden victory period only the
first wrestler to secure a takedown or to force their opponent out of bounds by
push out will be declared the winner.
Throughout the match each wrestler may receive one stalling warning. Subsequent stalling calls count as a
takedown for the opponent.
Medals will be awarded to the top 4 finishers in each
weight class.

I
acknowledge that participation in this tournament has an inherent risk. The child named above has my permission
to participate in the designated Big Red / West Middlesex Wrestling athletic
event. I understand that tournament
participation will involve significant physical activity which could result in
injury. I certify that my child is
in good physical condition and is fully able to participate. I assume all risk
incident to my child’s participation and release the Big Red Mat Club & West
Middlesex Area School District, its employees, agents, offices and volunteers
from all liability, claim, expenses, and actions which may arise from injury or
harm to the child as a result of participation in this
event.
In
the event of a medical emergency, I authorize the Big Red Mat Club/West
Middlesex Area School District to designate a hospital, physician or emergency
personnel to provide care ( including hospitalization, if necessary) to the
child and release the Big Red Mat Club/West Middlesex Area School District from
any liability for injury or harm to the child which may result from this medical
care. I understand that
responsibility for payment of such medical care will be mine and certify that
the child is covered by adequate medical insurance.
